Isha Upanishad 1

Sanskrit
ईशा वास्यमिदं सर्वं यत्किञ्च जगत्यां जगत्...
isa vasyam idam sarvam yat kinca jagatyam jagat...
Translation

All this — whatever exists in this changing universe — is pervaded by the Lord.

Explanation

The opening verse of the Isha Upanishad establishes the ground of all Vedantic teaching: the divine presence is not somewhere else but permeates every atom of existence. Because everything is pervaded by the Divine, nothing needs to be grasped or rejected — only received with the renunciation of ownership. This is the non-dual insight of the Upanishads expressed in its most direct form.

Life Application

Try seeing every person, object, and circumstance you encounter today as an expression of the one pervading reality. Notice how this changes your relationship to ordinary experience.
