Whenever righteousness declines and unrighteousness prevails, I manifest myself.

Krishna reveals the principle of divine manifestation — that the Divine takes form whenever the world falls out of alignment with dharma. This is not a promise of magical intervention but a statement about the nature of reality: when darkness becomes too deep, light necessarily arises. The avatara principle points to the responsiveness of the sacred to human need.

When circumstances seem darkest, consider that the conditions for renewal are already being created.
