Bhagavad Gita 6.34

Sanskrit
चञ्चलं हि मनः कृष्ण प्रमाथि बलवद्दृढम्...
cancalam hi manah krsna pramathi balavad drdham...
Translation

The mind is restless, turbulent, strong and unyielding. I consider it as difficult to subdue as the wind.

Explanation

Arjuna's honest complaint about the difficulty of meditation — the mind will not stay still — is met by Krishna with acknowledgment rather than dismissal. This exchange validates the universal experience of the meditator and leads into Krishna's teaching that the mind can indeed be trained through practice (abhyasa) and dispassion (vairagya). The struggle itself is part of the path.

Life Application

When your meditation feels scattered and difficult, remember that Arjuna felt the same. Persistence through difficulty is the practice.
